Privacy Policy

Atlassian Permissions and Scopes

This is where you provide the inputs and set the parameters for the AI. 

Our application, Storygenie, operates within the Atlassian Forge platform. Atlassian manages the permissions granted to our app through a mechanism known as "scopes". These scopes define the specific actions that our app can perform and the information it can access within your Atlassian product. 

 

When you install Storygenie, you are required to grant certain permissions based on the specific functionality the app provides. We only request the minimal scopes necessary for the operation of our app. The permissions required by Storygenie are as follows: 

  1. Read and write Jira issues: Storygenie requires permission to read, create, and update issues in your Jira Software account. This is essential for generating and publishing Epics and User Stories based on your input. 

  2. Read Jira Software projects: Storygenie needs to access project details to accurately contextualize and place the generated Epics and User Stories. 

  3. API calls to OpenAI domain: Storygenie makes API calls to the OpenAI domain to interact with the ChatGPT service. This permission allows Storygenie to use ChatGPT's language model to generate Epics and User Stories based on your prompts. 

Storygenie does not request more permissions than necessary to provide its services. All data provided to Storygenie is processed in-memory and is not stored beyond the duration of your session. Remember, you have the ability to manage these permissions and revoke them at any time through your Atlassian account settings.

This privacy policy will explain how our organization, Storygenie, uses the personal data we collect from you when you use our application. 

1. What Data We Collect 

Storygenie does not collect any personal data from its users. All the data entered into the app is stored temporarily in memory for the purpose of generating Epics and User Stories and is then published to Jira using the API bridge. We do not store or retain any user data after the session is completed. 

2. How We Collect Your Data 

We collect data and process data when you: 

  • Use or view our application via your browser’s cookies. 

3. How We Use Your Data 

Storygenie uses the data that you provide to: 

  • Generate Epics and User Stories based on your inputs. 

4. How We Store Your Data 

We do not store any user data. All data used by the application is stored temporarily in memory during the session and is not retained after the session is complete. 

5. AI Model Data Usage 

We use OpenAI’s language model, GPT, to generate Epics and User Stories based on user prompts. This means that the user prompts are processed by the model but are not stored or used to improve the model. 

6. Privacy policies of other websites

The Storygenie application contains links to other websites. Our privacy policy applies only to our application, so if you click on a link to another website, you should read their privacy policy. 

7. Changes to our privacy policy 

Storygenie keeps its privacy policy under regular review and places any updates on this web page.

Storygenie uses ChatGPT, a language model developed by OpenAI, to generate Epics and User Stories based on your input. When you interact with Storygenie, your prompts are processed by ChatGPT to provide the necessary outputs. 

 

Please note that by using Storygenie, you are also subject to the terms of service of ChatGPT, which is managed by OpenAI. You should review OpenAI's terms of service and privacy policy to better understand how they manage and protect your data. These can be found at OpenAI's Policy Page. 

 

We don't control and are not responsible for OpenAI's privacy practices, so we encourage you to familiarize yourself with their privacy policy. 

 

By agreeing to use Storygenie, you acknowledge and agree to abide by OpenAI's terms of service and privacy policy. 

 

Best Practices for Using Chat GPT and Privacy 

We recommend our users to follow the best practices established by OpenAI for using the GPT model. When interacting with the GPT model: 

  • Never input personal or customer data into Storygenie 

  • Be aware that the model generates responses based on a diverse range of internet text, but it doesn't know anything about you personally. 

  • We follow OpenAI's data usage policy which states that as of its March 1st, 2023 update, OpenAI retains API data for 30 days to monitor for abuse but does not use the data sent via the API to improve its models.
