Generation Panel

This is where you provide the inputs and set the parameters for the AI.

1. Generate Dropdown Options:

This dropdown lets you select the kind of output you want. Here are the available options:

  • 'Epics and User Stories': For a full project breakdown.

  • 'Multiple Epics': When you want to generate more than one high-level feature or functionality.

  • Single Epic': If you want to elaborate on a single high-level feature or functionality.

  • 'Multiple User Stories': To break down a particular epic into various actionable tasks.

  • 'Single User Story': When you want to generate one user story from a detailed requirement.

2. Prompt History Section

It keeps a record of all your previous prompts, which you can copy and refine for additional prompts as needed.

3. Prompt Input Section

This is where you enter your project requirements or overview. Be as specific as possible for more precise results. For instance, rather than saying "Develop an asset management system," specify "Develop an asset management system for a physical infrastructure provider for
telecommunication services.

4. Prompt Enhancer

This feature uses ChatGPT to further elaborate your initial prompt when generating multiple Epic and/or User Stories, resulting in a more comprehensive project understanding for the AI.

5. Prompt Generate Button:

Once your prompt is set, click this button to let Storygenie create the Epics and/or User Stories

IMPORTANT:

For Storygenie to be able to publish your epics and user stories to Jira, the 'Story' issue type must be enabled in your Jira project. If you receive an error message while attempting to publish alerting you to enable the Story issue type then follow the instructions below:

Navigate to Project Settings:

  1. Go to your Jira project and click on the "Project Settings" in the left sidebar.

  2. Select Issue Types:

  3. Click on "Issue Types" under the "Issues" section.

  4. Verify 'Story' Issue Type:

  5. Ensure that "Story" is listed among the available issue types.

  6. Add 'Story' If Missing:

  7. If 'Story' is not listed, click on "Add Issue Type", select "Story", and save your changes.

This will allow Storygenie to create user stories directly within your project without any hitches.

1. Assign and Reassign User Stories to Epics

Storygenie allows you to reorganize your user stories under different Epics as per your project requirements.

You have full control over what stays and what goes. Simply delete any Epic or User Story that doesn't fit your project's scope.

3. Inline Edit Summary Field

You can edit the summary field of your Epics or User Stories inline for quick adjustments.

4. Edit Epic and User Story Descriptions in a Modal

Detailed editing of the Epic and User Story descriptions can be done within a popup modal.

5. Storygenie Unleashed:

This feature allows Storygenie to generate more User Stories under a given Epic automatically, saving you time and providing fresh ideas.

6. Publish Directly to Jira

Once satisfied with your Epics and User Stories, you can publish them directly to your Jira project from the Results Pane.

Pro Tips

Pro Tips

This is where you provide the inputs and set the parameters for the AI.

Pro Tip #1: Data Privacy First

Your privacy and the privacy of your customers is paramount. Remember, never input personal or customer data into Storygenie. Our system is designed to generate Epics and User Stories based on general information and requirements. If you need to include user-specific scenarios, always use fictional characters or roles instead. Your project's security matters to us!

Pro Tip #2: Optimal Epic & Story Generation

For the most comprehensive set of User Stories, consider generating a single Epic first using the 'Prompt Enhancer'. Then, copy the generated Epic description and use it as your next prompt (feel free to use 'Prompt Enhancer' again) for generating multiple User Stories. After your new stories are created, simply assign them to your Epic. This iterative approach ensures your stories are directly relevant and detailed to your Epic's context.

Pro Tip #3: Overcoming Prompter's Block

If you're uncertain about what features you want or need inspiration, Storygenie can help. Select 'Multiple User Stories' from the generate dropdown, then create a broad prompt like 'All the latest features expected from a geospatial information system (GIS) for a physical infrastructure provider'. Use the 'Enhance Prompt' feature and then click 'Generate'. Storygenie will create a comprehensive set of User Stories for you to choose from. It's like brainstorming with a digital expert!

Pro Tip #4: Agile Adjustments

Remember, Storygenie is designed to adapt just like your projects do. If you've forgotten an important detail in your Epic, don't worry. Simply update the Epic description and then use 'Storygenie Unleashed' again. Your revised Epic will prompt a new set of User Stories, ensuring you're always prepared for the most detailed parts of your project. It's never been easier to adjust your plan on the fly!

Pro Tip #5: Optimize Your Workspace

Want a more spacious view of the Storygenie results pane? You can quickly gain additional horizontal screen space by collapsing the Jira project menu. Just click on the arrow near the Jira project menu pane to hide it. This will give you a broader view of your generated Epics and User Stories, making your user experience even more comfortable and efficient. Remember, you can always expand the menu again when you need it!
